The 2016 Frontiers in Particle Science and Technology (FPST) conference, sponsored in part by Rocky DEM, Inc. and hosted by the AIChE Particle Technology Forum (PTF), will take place April 11th to 13th in Houston (TX), USA. This year’s conference will be focused on the mitigation and application of particle attrition and will bring together practitioners and researchers in the field of particle science and technology. One of these experts is Alexander Potapov, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Rocky DEM, Inc., who will present the lecture “Approaches for Accurate Modeling of Particle Attrition in DEM Simulations” on Tuesday, April 12th during the Breakage Modeling I session.
Potapov’s presentation will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of two common approaches for simulating breakage in DEM software: instantaneous and discrete grain breakage. In addition, approaches for particles attrition simulations and simulations of boundary attrition caused by particles interactions will also be considered.
